For Prying Eyes or Just the Nosy

I've always thought you could tell much about a person from what the place where they live looks like. Of late, there seem to be all sorts of folks who want to "know" about me. So here are a few pics from inside my house. See what you think you can tell about me!

Or just laugh....I do alot of that....anything else is hopeless!

So, there you have it. Random shots from inside my house. Shots of bathrooms, and friends. Shots of children and dogs. Shots in the evening, and shots in the daytime....
Pretty boring stuff...

Yes, I was nosey enough to visit your house. It looks warm and welcoming. I love the rug.

Carol,
You are welcome into my home anytime! If you ever get to the Poconos, I'd love to make you a meal and pour you a drink and simply enjoy your company!
I love the rug, too....it was a special buy....I don't usually make such investments, but I really wantd something nice once the boys were all grown....
I have some nice antique furniture, but everything was from bargain hunting and junk store haunting...and many, many summers of refinishing....but the rug was a treat....

I wanted to ask if the rug was Persian. We all need a special treat now and again. My d-in-law bought me a new quilt and shams for Christmas, I bought the drapes and bedskirt and totally redone my bedroom after ten years. Everything went that I could replace.
Now I am waiting for the son to repaint the room so it matches a little better.
I think I will start on the living room next. Spring should bring new life and this old house needs new life.
Thank you for the invitation, it has been many years since I was in the Poconos. About 1962.

I don't know if it is Persian, or not. It was made in India. It's a blend of wool and silk. It's all hand loomed and hand dyed, with the little fringe all hand tied. I mortgaged my soul to be able to buy it! lol

Somewhere further back on my blog there are a bunch of pictures of this town. You might want to go look at them...it's quite pretty...
I bought my house twenty-five years ago, before the yuppies discovered the area and it was still affordable....
Now we're a national historic district and I hang in there because this house is the only way I'll ever be able to afford retirement!

About Me

My photo
First I am a mother, and grandmother....that is probably the single most important aspect of my life. Then I am a family advocate for a large, national advocacy organization. I work primarily in "systems advocay", helping to identify needs and change policies in children's behavioral health. And I love my dogs, my garden, my pond and fish, and trashy murder mysteries and the occasional shot of good scotch.... Fell free to post a note in whatever the most recent entry is...I love meeting new people!
